Northern and Southern Safari Combination- 26Days/25Nights

Day 01: day of Arrival

Upon your arrival to Dar es Salaam International Airport you will be transferred to the hotel.

 

Day 02: City Tour in Dar es Salaam

After breakfast you will do either a city tour in and around Dar es Salaam, or you can go to the beach south of the city for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 03: Dar es Salaam - Moshi

After breakfast drive to Moshi for dinner and overnight at a hotel in Moshi Town.

 

Day 04: Marangu waterfalls.

In the morning you drove to Marangu, which lies in the fertile hills of Kilimanjaro where a accredited village guide will lead you through the coffee and banana plantations to a spectacular waterfall. On the way, the guide will tell you and point out the fauna and flora of the region. At the waterfall you will have lunch and if you fancy you may take a plunge in the refreshing waters of the waterfalls. In the afternoon you will go back to Moshi Town for dinner and overnight at your hotel.

 

Day 05: Moshi - Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park for full day game drives in the park with lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 06: Lake Manyara - Serengeti

Early morning drive to Serengeti with lunch boxes. In the afternoon drive around the Seronera area. Dinner and overnight will be at campsite/lodge.

 

Day 07: Serengeti

A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 08: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

Early morning drive en route to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge with picnic lunch. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater - Tarengire

After breakfast full day tour in the Crater with lunch boxes. Late in the afternoon drive to Tarangire National Park for dinner and overnight at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 10: Tarengire - Babati

After breakfast you do full day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. Tarangire is spectacular in its concentration of wildlife. Large herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, eland and Oryx gather until the beginning of the rains season when they migrate to other areas for grazing. In the afternoon drive to Babati for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 11: Babati - Kondoa

Morning after breakfast, drive to Kondoa for lunch. In the afternoon visit the Kolo Irangi Rock paintings. Dinner and overnight will be at the Campsite/local guest house.

 

Day 12: Kondoa - Mikumi National Park

Early morning after breakfast, drive to Mikumi National Park with stop over in Dodoma central Tanzania for lunch. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 13: Mikumi - Ruaha

After breakfast departs for Ruaha National Park, arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon game viewing in the park, which is known to be one of the more natural, unspoiled as well as one of the largest Parks of Africa? Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 14: Ruaha National Park

Morning after breakfast, full day game viewing in the park. The exciting Great Ruaha River features large numbers of hippo and crocodile and attracts lion, leopard, hunting dog and other species such as waterbuck, impala, giraffe, warthog, eland, zebra and elephants. Grant's gazelle, ostrich and cheetah may be seen on the plains. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 15: Ruaha National Park

After breakfast walking safari accompanied by an experienced guide, here you will have the opportunity to 'touch the wild'. Back for lunch. In the afternoon game viewing in the park, which is spectacular in its concentration of wildlife? Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 16: Ruaha - Mbeya

Early morning after breakfast, drive to Mbeya Town (Southern Highland) via Ismila Stone Age Site. This seasonal watercourse has yielded one of the richest collections of Stone Age tools known anywhere in the world. Dinner and overnight will be at Utengule Country Side Hotel. F/B

 

Day 17: Mbeya

Relaxation at Utengule Country Side Hotel, where you will enjoy the magnificent sceneries of coffee fields and the view of the Great Rift Valley. You can do a walk through the fields to visit the coffee farm nearby. Dinner and overnight at Utengule Country Side Hotel.

 

Day 18: Ngosi Crater

Today we trek to Ngosi Crater Lake. Thirty eight km south of Mbeya, in the direction of Tukuyu and Lake Malawi, lays the Ngosi Crater Lake in a beautiful cone mountain. A narrow footpath winds uphill through a dense tropical jungle full of bamboo and wild banana trees. Small mammals and colourful birds hide behind the thick vegetation. After a strenuous climb of about one hour, you arrive at the crater rim and your efforts are rewarded with a magnificent view on the Crater Lake. Strange colours and water streams in the lake make local people believe that a monster houses under the water surface. Dinner and overnight will be at Utengule Country Side hotel.

 

Day 19: Kaporogwe waterfall and Bridge of the god.

Morning after breakfast, we drive to Tukuyu district one of the greenest parts of the country. The rolling hills are covered with the green tea bushes and the lush valleys offer fertile soils for many crops. Being on the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley, the area has many volcanic mountains and crater lakes. Rungwe offers unique flora and fauna, Kaporogwe water falls, Bridge of the god. Dinner and overnight will be at the Utengule Country Side hotel.

 

Day 20: Mufindi Highland.

Morning after breakfast, drive to Mufindi Highland. Located in the heart of a series of tea plantations deep in the southern highlands amidst spectacular mountain scenery reminiscent of Scotland, this is a private estate perched high on the edge of the Rift Valley escarpment. Parents may be tempted to leave the children here for a week whilst they go on safari as it is an adventure playground. Fly fishing in several man made dams, horse riding trails, mountain biking trails, kayaking, golf, bowls, badminton, forest walks, guided nature trails to name but a few. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

 

Day 21: Udzungwa National Park.

Today we drive to Udzungwa Mountains located in Morogoro regions in the Eastern Arc Mountains. The park offers the greatest altitudinal range of the Eastern Arc Mountains and has an incredible range of biological species as well as several endemic species. The undisturbed forest areas offer good hiking opportunities and bird watching and the park receives very few tourists. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 22: Udzungwa National Park.

After breakfast, start trekking leads to the spectacular trail up to Sanje waterfalls. From here you will have a view of Kilombero Valley 180m. Back for lunch. In the afternoon drive to Morogoro Town. Dinner and overnight will be at the hotel.

 

Day 23: Udzungwa - Selous Game Reserve

Morning after breakfast, resume your journey to Selous Game Reserve. In the afternoon game viewing in the biggest and fascinating game reserve of Africa. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 24: Selous Game Reserve

After breakfast you will depart for one of the most exciting experience, the walking safari, accompanied by an armed ranger, back to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, boat safari in the Rufiji River, where you'll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 25: Selous Game Reserve

Morning after breakfast, full day game drive in Selous, the Rufiji River features a large numbers of hippo and crocodile and attracts lion, leopard, hunting dog, and numerous other species such as waterbuck, impala, warthog, eland, giraffe, zebra and elephant. Dinner and overnight will be at the campsite/lodge.

 

Day 26: Selous - Dar es Salaam

After breakfast drive back to Dar es Salaam with picnic lunch, via Kibiti road, the journey will take about 6 hours and will bring you through one of the most amazing areas of Tanzania, arrive Dar late afternoon.
